Meet Caitlin
Rooted in Johnston County
Known to many simply as "Goose," Caitlin Marsh is a lifelong Johnston County community member with deep roots in the area she's seeking to serve. She attended South Smithfield Elementary School, McGee's Crossroads Elementary School, and Crossroads Middle School, and graduated from Cleveland High School.
After briefly relocating to Wake County in 2019, Caitlin returned to Johnston County in 2023 to raise her family and continue investing in the community she has always considered home. Today she's a mother of three and an advocate for responsible stewardship of the soil, water, and agricultural heritage that make this county what it is.
During her campaign for the North Carolina Senate, Goose developed a deep understanding of the critical role soil and water conservation play in Johnston County's future. Extensive research into infrastructure, development, agriculture, and environmental policy left her passionate about protecting one of our most valuable resources — clean water — and the fertile farmland that depends on it.
Having watched the rapid pace of development across the county, Goose believes in proactive solutions rather than waiting until problems become crises. She's running for the Soil & Water Conservation District because protecting our natural resources isn't just about today — it's about leaving Johnston County stronger, healthier, and more resilient for generations to come.
